Resources for Small Businesses During COVID-19 Outbreak

While we typically write about video gaming terminals (VGTs) and the benefits they would have on Indiana small businesses and local municipalities, today we are taking a more direct route to advocate for small businesses. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, small, independent bars and restaurants – along with our state’s social and veterans’ service organizations like the VFW and the American Legion were struggling. Now, under Governor Holcomb’s stay-at-home mandate to prevent the spread of COVID-19, bars, taverns, restaurants, and social organizations are either doing carry-out only deals or are closed altogether.

In this time of uncertainty, we turn to provide resources for the people we have been advocating for all along. We have compiled links from government entities like the CDC and Indiana Chamber of Commerce as well as small business resources like federal disaster loan programs and small business guidance and resources.

While none of us have seen a situation like this in our lifetime, it has created an opportunity for communities to come together and rally around small businesses. We encourage you to check in with your local bars, taverns, restaurants, and social organizations to find out if you can still order food or support them.
