VGTs for Indiana Looks Back on 2020

When we rang in the new year in 2020, none of us knew what was coming our way. Here is a look at the VGT effort in 2020:

January 2020

VGTs for Indiana hosted more than a dozen legislators across the street from the state house at our VGT Reception. Legislators got to experience a few VGT machines and learn more about VGTs and your businesses.

There was a VGT bill introduced during the 2020 session limited to service organizations. However, the bill did not receive a hearing.

March 2020

The state-wide stay-at-home order hit on March 13, just as the short 2020 legislative session wrapped up.

April – June

VGTs for Indiana shifted our focus in our blog and social media to sharing resources to help our advocates navigate COVID-19 shut-downs.

July – September

We continue to collect your stories about how VGTs could help save your business after many months of shutdowns (with more to come) and share them with legislators.

October – December

Our lobbyist and coalition partners are working double time talking to legislators and working on getting a bill introduced in the 2021 session. Your efforts in contacting your legislators and telling them why VGTs matter to your business continue to create buzz and support for our efforts.

What is next?

We are looking forward to a productive and successful 2021 both for VGTs for Indiana and for your business. Learn more about how you can get involved at www.VGTsforIndiana.org.
