The VGT coalition including bar and tavern owners, veterans’ clubs, and coin-operated vending companies convened on January 6 to meet with Indiana legislators at the VGT Coalition Legislative Reception.
There was a strong contingent of legislators present at the reception, more than in years past. Legislators were eager to learn about video gaming terminals and the benefits they would have for Indiana. Legislators heard from their constituents first-hand about the issue and why VGTs are important to their business.
Monday, January 6 was the first day of the Indiana legislative session, which will run through March 14. Currently, the legislative services agency is working on drafting submitted bills for the docket. According to statements made by Republican and Democrat leadership on Monday, education and healthcare matters are getting top billing this short session.
