Three VGT Bills Introduced in 2021 Indiana Legislative Session



Three separate VGT bills have been introduced to provide video gaming terminals for veterans’ service organizations. VGTs for Indiana is working with lawmakers to ensure no one is left out of this VGT effort including bars and taverns who are currently omitted from these bills. The next step on the process would be a hearing on the bills in the House and/or Senate Public Policy Committees.


VGT Bills include:


HB1335 VIDEO GAMING TERMINALS (Author Chris Judy, Coauthored by Rep. Bartels and Baird):

Authorizes wagering on video gaming terminals in certain establishments. Establishes a licensing structure for participants in video gaming. Imposes a video gaming wagering tax of 30% of adjusted gross receipts.

SB90 ELECTRONIC GAMING IN VETERANS' SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS (Author Senator James Tomes):

Authorizes wagering on video gaming terminals in licensed congressionally chartered veterans' service organizations. Establishes a licensing structure for participants in video gaming. Provides funding to the department of veterans' affairs for grants for veterans' services.

SB267 VIDEO GAMING TERMINALS (Author Susan Glick):

Establishes the county service officers grant fund to provide grants to fund county service officers. Authorizes wagering on video gaming terminals in licensed congressionally chartered veterans' service organizations. Establishes a licensing structure for participants in video gaming.
