Representative Todd Huston Selected as Speaker-Elect

Current Indiana speaker of the House of Representatives, Brian Bosma has announced he will retire after the 2020 session. In order to ensure a smooth transition, a speaker-elect has been selected to shadow Bosma during the 2020 session and then take over as Speaker of the House following Bosma's retirement.

Todd Huston (District 37/Fishers) will be the next Speaker of the House. Huston was first elected in 2012. Currently, Huston is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which crafts Indiana's $34 billion biennial budget. In 2019, Huston authored the state’s budget (HEA 1001), which included a historic investment in education funding with $763 million in new money for K-12.

He also serves as a member of the House Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.
